Singletrack Yummm!
I went on a great ride the other day with some of the trogs. We went to New Melones (Glory Hole) which is usually a fairly boring ride, but as an added twist we rode it at night under a full moon. If you’ve never been on a night ride before I suggest you try it, it can make even the most tame trail a bit more adventerous.
Ride Reports are a bit slim right now because it’s tough getting to new places in the winter time.
Group rides with the trogs always turn out to be a blast, this one was no exception. On Saturday I met up with the trogs and some of my other riding buddies in Auburn for a great ride exploring the best that the Auburn SRA has to offer. You can check out the pictures from the ride here.

I finally posted my Northstar photos. These are several weeks old and I’ve just been slow getting them online Check out the Northstar Photos here. Additionally Kevin and I headed down to Bakersfield for the annual October Classic at Mesa Marin Speedway so I took the opportunity to ride at Keyesville Recreation Area, which is home to the Keyesville Classic Mountain Bike Race. I finally managed to get a decent ride report up for our Bear Valley ride a few weeks ago. These are the same pictures I posted a couple weeks ago but with some additional details about the trails.
Kevin and I headed up to Salmon Falls this weekend. My Enduro was out of action due to a couple of broken spokes so I decided to take the Sugar out of the barn. I hadn’t ridden my Gary Fisher Sugar on a serious trail in a long time. Right around the beginning of the year I broke the second frame on it so I decided to park it.

We were planning on riding Hole in the Ground on Saturday but it started raining when we got to Auburn. We continued on while the rain was light, but then it started pouring rain. Eventually we all decided to turn back and ride in Auburn where hopefully the rain was a bit lighter. We wound up riding Clementine Loop under a constant drizzile. The ride was a blast, who would have figured that the wettest muddiest ride of the year would be in August!
I made a return trip to the Cannell Plunge, this time with a larger group, and with some people who were a bit faster than I am. We pushed a bit faster pace than I did last time and we also put in some bonus miles to Sherman Peak before heading down the Cannell Trail. Overall this was an incredible journey and the best ride yet.
I also had a great ride with Eric and Kelly at Annadel Park near Santa Rosa so I should have pictures posted from that soon as well.
More vacation pictures, on our way back up the coast we stopped and stayed the night at Montana Del Oro, a beautiful state park on the south end of Morro Bay. We spent some time at the tide pools and beaches, and we also got plenty of mountain biking in. Montana Del Oro pictures.
