Navigate: Top -->South Bay Area -->El Corte de Madera
The Court of the Woods is an appropriate name for this South Bay Area ride, the entire ride was through beautiful shaded redwood forests. This trail system is huge and there are challenges around every corner. Super fast and rocky doubletrack and singletrack, sections of rolling singletrack and a few technical sections that scared me. (I only walked one). I want to thank Eric, Danny and Kelly for inviting me along on this awesome mountain bike ride. Right now all I have are the pictures.
This is one of the most popular trail systems in the area so is subject to heavy traffic on weekends and evenings.
From the Central Valley take the Hiway 92 across the San Mateo Bridge continue along Highway 92 up into the mountains and when you get to the ridgeline turn left on Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard). Most people park at Skeggs Point which is on the left hand side of the highway about 9 miles South on 35 (Note this is an illegal left turn, go to the next safe turnaround and come back).
Here is Danny at the top of the toughest section of the day. This was the one spot which I chickened out on.
Danny right after he cleaned a nasty technical section. Yes it is as steep as it looks.
Eric, Danny, and Kelly trying to figure out where we went wrong.
Here I am coming around a nice little double switchback near the bottom of the trail system.
Kelly pushing her bike up a steep uphill which was after a creek crossing we had to walk.
