Navigate: Top -->South Sierra Nevada -->Lyon's Lake

This is a beginning level ride which should be rideable for most of the year. During the snow meltoff the river is too deep to cross and this route should be avoided.

This route is suitable for almost any level of riders. Park at the Lyon's Lake Day use area and ride about 1/4 mile to the dam. Go down the stairs and cross the dam. Take the singletrack on the right which follows along the lake until it dumps you onto a fireroad. Turn right on the fireroad and follow it for several miles along the lake shore and eventually along the river until you get to a small brown barn. After the barn there is a fireroad that goes to the right and there is a ford across the river. If the river is safe cross the river and turn right onto the old RR Grade at the far side. Otherwise turn back and return the way you came.
