The Ogre is getting pretty excited, the lucky dog is heading to Moab and Fruita for the week starting of March 26th. Excpect to see a bunch of pictures from the trip and hopefully a video or two in early April.
MTBR Ride in Auburn
We had a killer ride in Auburn this weekend, the biggest group ride I’ve been on yet. 24 riders in two groups. The first group did 30+ miles and the second about 25. Check out the Pictures Here.
_Oat Hill_ Mine Road Video
Well the Ogre’s first video is up from his ride last Saturday at Oat Hill. The lazy Ogre doesn’t have a page built yet for storing videos but he has uploaded the video clips which you can get here: . All Movies are Quicktime due to my Mac being the only computer set up to do video editing if I get enough requests I will use a different format.
General Ranting
Just a couple of quick notes. I got a helmet camera in the mail so I will soon be posting videos as well as pictures of rides. This weekend I am heading up to Oat Hill so I will try to get some videos from there but since this will be my first effort don\’t expect a lot.
Also, I managed to recover quite a bit of the lost information on my site but I am still missing quite a bit. The only backup I had was way too old.
Henry Coe and a Flight over San Francisco
I went on a ride with a small group to Henry Coe park starting at Coe HQ. Not much info about the ride yet but I’ll try to post more soon.
Finally took the family up for a flight, we went up over San Francisco and then down the coast to Santa Cruz. Originally I had planned on landing at Half Moon Bay but decided to opt out when there was a strong crosswind. Pictures are Here
Web Site issues
Apparently my site has been attacked and many of my pages were wiped out. I am working on getting a backup restored and getting the affected pages rebuilt but in the mean time bear with me. Most of the pictures are intact but the text content was wiped out.
Steve Suer Benefit Ride
If you are in or near the Sacramento area please consider participating in the Steve Suer Benefit Ride on Sunday, November 14th.
As a result of a devastating bike accident in May 2004, Steve Suer, a long time bike enthusiast and member of SGW, suffered paralysis as well as multiple facial injuries. His road to reconstruction and rehabilitation has been long and will be ongoing. He is currently in a rehab hospital in Santa Clara and will return home to his family by the end of the year. As the financial costs associated with his long term care will be extraordinarily high, a personal family trust has been established for the care and well being of the Suer family. Please join other bike riders in supporting Steve and riding a few miles with friends in his honor.

Rides and stuff
Well I’ve been offline for a while but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been riding, in fact I’ve tracked down a few new places which I’ve never ridden before. I’ve written about Pinball but I didn’t take any pictures or do a proper ride report. It’s a great, rugged trail in the Sierra’s near Lyons Lake and Twain Hart. There are a lot of trails in that area including some great trails off of the railroad grade. Read the Pinball Ride Report Here.
Another place which I’ve been recently is _Dodge Ridge_, yes it’s the ski resort. You park in the parking lot and climb up to the top of the lifts and then it takes you around the backside of the hill very close to the emegrant gap Wilderness area. There are some great downhills and rolling singletrack but the trail is a mess right now due to tons of dust. I think early spring is the time to hit this place. I’ll have a Ride Report for Dodge Ridge up soon.
Lastly, we made our annual exodos to Northstar. Kevin gets passes to Mountain Bike at Northstar due to the massive amount of skiing he does there. Kevin, Todd, and I went there and spent about 5 hours getting beaten up on the slopes. The pictures and ride report are from last year. Northstar seems to be really focused on attracting mountain bike traffic. They have great trails, a trials/ stunt area, and now they have a trail with long skinny bridges and ramps like you see in North Shore.
